Pyrgus carthami (Hübner, [1813])

Range: S and C Europe, W Asia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Very local from sea level to 1900 m.

Habitat: Dry grassy, flowery places usually on calcareous rock.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plant: Potentilla (Rosaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: A very local species at the southernmost limit of its distribution, needs further studies. IUCN category: Data Deficient.
