Pyrgus alveus (Hübner, [1803])

Range: N Africa, Europe, Asia E to China.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Local along the Black Sea coast, more widespread in mountains up to ca. 2000 m.

Habitat: Dry or wet grassy places.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plants: Potentilla (Rosaceae) and Helianthemum (Cistaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Local but not threatened. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
