Pararge maera (Linnaeus, 1758)   

Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Lasiommata maera

Range: N Africa, Europe E to Ural, Turkey and the Near East.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread up to 2000 m a.s.l. (Abadjiev 2001).

Habitat: Grassy and bushy places.

Bionomics: Two generations from May till August. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Widespread and common. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
