Nymphalis c-album (Linnaeus, 1758)   

Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Polygonum [sic: recte Polygonia !] c-album

 

Range: N Africa, Eurasia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread from sea level to ca. 1700 m.

Habitat: Bushy margins of deciduous and mixed forests, river valleys, etc.

Bionomics: Two generations from May till October, the adults of the last generation hibernate and reappear next spring. Larval host-plant: Urtica (Urticaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Of no concern. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
