Melitaea didyma (Esper, [1778])   


Range: Temperate Eurasia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread from sea level up to ca. 1800 m a.s.l.

Habitat: Grassy and bushy forest margins, roads and glades, river valleys, rocky slopes etc.

Bionomics: Two generations from May till August. Larval host-plant: Linaria, Plantago, Veronica, Verbascum etc. (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Of no concern. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
