Lycaena alciphron (Rottemburg, 1775)   

 

Range: Temperate Eurasia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread from sea level up to ca. 1600 m.

Habitat: Diverse flowery, grassy, bushy and/or rocky places, forest glades, roads, clearings, margins, river valleys etc.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plants: various Rumex (Polygonaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Widespread and common. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
