Limenitis reducta Staudinger, 1901   


Range: S Europe, Asia Minor to Caucasus and Iran.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread, though local, from sea level to ca. 1600 m (Abadjiev 2001).

Habitat: Warm bushy rocky slopes, sunny places in wooded river valleys, forest roads and clearings etc.

Bionomics: Two generations from May till August. Larval host-plant: Lonicera (Caprifoliaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Of no concern. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
