Favonius quercus (Linnaeus, 1758)   

Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Quercusia quercus

Range: Europe, W Asia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread from sea level to ca. 1500 m.

Habitat: Bushy glades and margins of deciduous forests with oak.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plant: Quercus (Fagaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997). Buresch  & Tuleschkow (1930) suggested that in Bulgaria has a second generation as specimens had been captured from late April till mid-August.

Conservation status: Widespread and abundant. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
