Erebia medusa (Fabricius, 1787)   

 

Range: Eurasia from France to China.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Mountrainous regions from ca. 400 to 2200 m a.s.l.

Habitat: Dry or wet grassy bushy places in or near forests; subalpine meadows.

Bionomics: One generation from May till late July. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Common and widespread. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
