Erebia ligea (Linnaeus, 1758)   


Range: Eurasia from France to Japan.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Mountains from 800 to ca. 2200 m a.s.l., occasionally found up to 2600 m (Abadjiev 2001).

Habitat: Grassy places in or near coniferous and mixed forests: glades, roads, clearings, slopes etc.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Common and widespread. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
