Cupido minimus (Fuessly, 1775)   


Range: Temperate Eurasia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Local from sea level to ca. 1500 m, mostly found in the mountains of the S and SW.

Habitat: Bushy glades, meadows, rocky grassy slopes, woodland fringes etc., usually in calcareous terrain.

Bionomics: Two generations from May till July. Larval host-plant: Anthyllis vulneraria (Fabaceae); larvae feed on seeds (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Local species with unclear status, possibly however not threatened due to the wide availability of suitable habitats. IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Lower risk, least concern.
