Colias myrmidone (Esper, 1781)
Range: Endemic to Europe, occurs from Germany and Poland to NW Kazakstan.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Very poorly known, only on the basis of old specimens from Germanski Manastir and Stambolovo. In the first locality according to my observations apparently does not occur anymore despite the presence of superficially suitable habitats with the larval host-plant.
Habitat: Dry bushy and stony, most often calcareous, places with the larval host-plant.
Bionomics: Two generations from May til September. Larval host-plant: Cytisus (Fabaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Urgently needs further research. IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Endandered.
