Coenonympha glycerion (Borkhausen, 1788)   


Range: From Europe (in S only in mountains) to Mongolia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Mostly in the high mountains up to ca. 2200 m a.s.l., also widespread in N Bulgaria at 200-400 m a.s.l.

Habitat: Grassy places near or inside forests.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Relatively widespread and common. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
