Argynnis aglaja (Linnaeus, 1758)   


Range: Eurasia.

Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread in forested lowlands and mountains from sea level up to ca. 1800 m.

Habitat: Woodland margins, roads, clearings and glades, river valleys, bushy slopes.

Bionomics: One generation from June till August. Larval host-plant: Viola (Tolman & Lewington 1997).

Conservation status: Of no concern. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
